Title : Personnel Officer Grade : P.3 Official station (country) : Harare (Zimbabwe) Organizational Location/Unit : Regional Office for Africa (AFRO) Administration and Finance (DAF) Objectives of the programme : Within the regional Support Programme Division, the Staff Administration Sub-Unit is responsible for human resources planning selection and recruitment, application of classification standards the administration and management of all professional and general service staff, consultants, short-term professionals, special services agreements. The successful candidate will : - monitor the human resources needs of Member States, Regional Office, and WRs Office and initiate recruitment action; - review all posts deions and advise on appropriate grade in accordance with the Master Standard Classification Plans for Professionals & GS staff; - monitor contracts of staff members whose posts are ending and propose reassignment as appropriate. Qualifications Required : Education and Skills : Degree in personnel management, business or public administration, administrative law or any of the behavioural sciences; ability to interpret Staff Rules and personnel policies and determine staff entitlements; ability to counsel and communicate effectively; excellent staff relations with staff of different nationalities. Experience : Five years experience in Personnel Administration at national level and at least; three years in an international organisation. Languages : Excellent knowledge of English or French and good working knowledge of the other; knowledge of Portuguese would be an asset. Annual salary (net of tax) : US$ 46 445 at single rate and US$ 49 756 with primary dependants. Post Adjustment: .% of the above figures. This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
