* No additional confirmed cases have been reported for 30 straight days since July 4.
** 11 out of the 12 cases under treatment have tested negative for MERS-CoV by two PCR tests, and all of the 11 cases were transferred from negative-pressure isolation rooms to general wards for ongoing treatment.
Currently, 9 cases are in a stable condition while 3 are unstable. The 3 unstable cases are relying on devices such as an artificial respirator or ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) for the maintenance of oxygen saturation.

a) A 28-year old male who returned from Jordan on August 1 had nasal discharge (without a fever) on August 2 and has since been under home quarantine. He tested negative for MERS-CoV by PCR test on August 2 and will have the second test on August 4.
b) A 36-female who returned from UAE on July 27 developed a fever on August 2. She was placed under quarantine at hospital on August 3. She tested negative for MERS-CoV by PCR test on August 2 and will have the second test on August 4.
** They are contacts of the 1st and 2nd suspected cases respectively.
