Chambers of Commerce Join Nationwide Effort to Support the Just Give Program
- Twenty-one regional chambers of commerce and 10 member companies donate KRW 200 million in cash and goods and help promote the program nationwide
- Voluntary participation by local companies helps foster a culture of giving across Korea
The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, Minister Jeong Eun Kyeong) announced that it will strengthen public-private cooperation to support the Just Give Program, a basic food support initiative for people experiencing financial hardship. The Ministry will work in partnership with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI, Chairman Chey Tae-won), regional chambers of commerce and industry, and local businesses. As part of this effort, a roundtable and donation ceremony to support people who are not adequately reached by existing welfare services was held on Monday, July 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Just Give Corner in the Naraeul Social Welfare Center in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do.
