Digital Health Leaders from Industry, Government, Academia, and Research Gather to Share Experiences and Case Studies from the Year

 

- 2024 Digital Health Day: Exploring the Present and Future of Digital Healthcare -

 

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, Minister Cho KyooHong) and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI, President Cha SoonDo) hosted the 2024 Digital Health Day at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, at the Royal Park Convention in Seoul.

 

As the inaugural event, Digital Health Day was designed to reflect on the achievements of 2024 with various leaders in the digital health field who collaborated with MOHW and KHIDI over the year, while also sharing a vision for 2025.

 

For the digital transformation of healthcare to be both successful and sustainable, it is crucial to support leadership across diverse sectors and foster partnerships among industry, government, academia, and research institutions. This event aims to serve as a catalyst for advancing these efforts.

 

The event welcomed over 100 digital health leaders, including Ko HyungWoo, Director General of Advanced Health Technology Policy at MOHW; KHIDI President Cha SoonDo; entrepreneurs; healthcare professionals; and researchers.

 

Part 1 began with a presentation on the “Status of Digital Health Initiatives” by KHIDI Director Lee KwanIk, followed by a case study titled “Service Models Using Medical MyData” presented by Professor Kim JinDong of Kongju National University. The session concluded with a discussion on “Planning and Directions for Connected Health R&D” shared by Professor Cho KyungHee from National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital.

 

A special address was delivered by the communicator "Yak," renowned for fostering public understanding and engagement with healthcare topics through his focus on science. Titled “The Convergence of Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence,” the address presented a visionary outlook on future innovations in the field.

 

Part 2 featured case studies from Kyungpook National University Hospital and Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital on the Pilot Remote Consultation Project, along with presentations from four companies, including G2E, highlighting their experiences and achievements in the Digital Healthcare Overseas Expansion and Promotion Project.

 

Ko HyungWoo, Director General of Advanced Health Technology Policy at MOHW, expressed his gratitude to the experts who have tirelessly dedicated themselves to advancing the digital health sector, stating, “We will continue to provide support the digital health sector to drive innovation in healthcare services by implementing diverse support programs and establishing robust legal and institutional frameworks.

 

KHIDI President Cha SoonDo emphasized, “We will cultivate Digital Health Day as an open platform and collaborative hub where digital health leaders can share their experiences and build partnerships. ///
