Ceremony held to commemorate the 23rd Social Welfare Day

The Ministry of Health and Welfare held a ceremony to commemorate ‘the 23rd Social Welfare Day’ at the Seoul Garden Hotel on September 7 at 11 a.m.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, this year’s event was held with only 150 people in attendance and broadcast live through the YouTube Channel of the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, “Nanum Channel Gonggam”
The Social Welfare Day is a legal anniversary that was established along with the implementation of the National Basic Livelihood Security Scheme to help nationals to better understand social welfare and to encourage social welfare workers.
The honor of the Order of Civil Merit, Camellia Medal, was granted to Lim, Yeong-ho, the Chief Director of the Sunglim Welfare Foundation, recognizing his devoted contributions to the operation of the welfare facility for children.
The honor of the Order of Civil Merit, Magnolia Medal, was granted to Hong, Hyeon-song, the Director of the Nasolchae Nursing Home, recognizing her contributions of neighborly love in providing on-the-spot social services.
