- 2024 SNOMED CT Business Meetings & EXPO to Be Held (October 19–25) -
The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, Minister Cho KyooHong) will host the 2024 SNOMED CT Business Meetings & EXPO from Saturday, October 19, to Friday, October 25, at the Conrad Seoul Hotel.
The annual SNOMED CT* Business Meetings & EXPO are held each year for 49 member countries to share the utilization of standards and execution strategies. This year, South Korea has been selected as the host country. SNOMED CT* is one of the internationally recognized standards for healthcare terminology, used in over 70 countries to standardize medical terminology with the goal of building a better healthcare environment.
* The Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT) is considered the most comprehensive clinical healthcare terminology in the world, designed to be compatible with medical systems.
The event consists of an annual business meeting (October 19–23) and an expo (October 24–25). The business meeting will include an official meeting organized by SNOMED International, the managing body of SNOMED CT. On the final day, October 23, a symposium will present Korea's domestic direction for healthcare data standardization and introduce leading international cases that have implemented standard technologies. The expo will feature 13 booths showcasing the use of SNOMED CT and various healthcare information systems from both medical and industrial sectors, along with over 50 academic events.

Ko HyungWoo, Director General of Advanced Health Technology Policy, stated, “I expect that we will be able to learn about global efforts and experiences, from the development of healthcare data standards to their realization, and the future we envision, all in one place.” He added, “I hope this will serve as a platform where our medical community, academia, and industry can collaborate to promote public health.” ///
