Current Health Expenditure
- In 2016, the current health expenditure (preliminary) was estimated at KRW 125.2 trillion (7.7% of GDP), an increase of KRW 10 trillion from the previous year (nominal growth rate: 8.7%; real growth rate: 7.9%).
- In 2016, medical care services (inpatient/outpatient) accounted for the largest proportion (67%) of the current health expenditure by function (preliminary), followed by pharmaceuticals (20.2%).
