2024 World Bio Summit Official Website Launch

- 2024 World Bio Summit (Nov.11–12, 2024): Event Registration and Key Program Information -

The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW, Minister Cho KyooHong) announced that, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), it will host the 2024 World Bio Summit on Monday, November 11, and Tuesday, November 12, at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, under the theme “Future Investments for a Healthy and Secure Decade.” Now in its third year, the World Bio Summit is a significant international event where global leaders in the bio field (health ministers, vice ministers, heads of international organizations, representatives from vaccine and bio companies, and experts) gather to discuss global agendas in the vaccine and bio sectors, with participation from various countries and international organizations expected.

As of October 14, registration for event participation has begun through the official website of the World Bio Summit (https://worldbiosummit.kr). Participants can check information about the summit and proceed with the registration process through the website. The event will also be broadcast live worldwide on the 2024 World Bio Summit YouTube channel (https://worldbiosummit.kr).

During the summit, three sessions will share recent trends in innovative R&D, stable global supply chains, and workforce capacity reinforcement in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and discuss global cooperation strategies in each area. A special session will also address ways to enhance vaccine accessibility and strengthen vaccination across the life cycle.

Meanwhile, during the summit, five side events will take place in different formats, including expert seminars and business meetings, based on cooperation with international organizations and groups such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNITAID, International Vaccine Institute (IVI), RIGHT Foundation, and HealthAI. To support the expansion of cooperation among international organizations, global companies, foreign health ministries, and Korean bio companies, a Global Business Lounge will also be operated.

Minister Cho KyooHong emphasized, “The 2024 World Bio Summit will serve as an important forum for preparing for and responding through collaboration on global health threats. We look forward to the interest and participation of the public.” ///
